Creating art gives us a way to be able to make changes or interpret the vision that we see in our mind of any image we seem to proclaim beautiful. In this case, Gustav Klimt's painting The Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I is transfigured into a golden elephant.
Having able to see more images as I admire at Klimt's work urges me to play with it and eventually paint it. We can always see things inside other things, it might be that there's something special with our eyes or it might even be considered a flaw like dyslexia. However, no one really knows if this is something that should be considered a negative or positive. The point is that with this kind of sight for images in images gives us a different view on things not most can see. And blessed with this, along with the skill to create what I see, I can share it and make everyone see what I see with my eyes and my mind.
In this artwork, I used a combination of different color pens and inks along with silver and gold gel pens to recreate Klimt's gold leaf attachments.
Diyos Makina (God Machine) is a mixed media on paper artwork, size 24 x 36". I made it back in 2014 and was exhibited at the show Chaos in Progress along with other Filipino artists at Cevio Art Haus.
